From our very first product to the ones being shipped each day, Telefonix has spent countless hours and millions of dollars on invention and reinvention. Our standard cord reel platforms have numerous patents that cover the critical component design and operation. What makes them so special? Here are just a few critical differences between Telefonix and all the rest:

Cable design: Most cord reels on the market today use wiping contacts or slip rings to make the connection between the retractable and stationary cables. In low voltage applications these contacts quickly corrode and interfere with the signal, data or power being passed through the system leading to failure. Telefonix uses a unique multi-cable design that has no wiping contacts or slip rings resulting in extremely high performance and signal fidelity.

Strain relief: The highest single point of failure on any retractable cable device is the strain relief at the end of the retractable cable. Thousands of hours of repetitive use inevitably break down the cable, which eventually leads to failure. We have developed several unique strain relief constructions, which ensure extended product life.

Cable jacket: Most of our cord reels use a braided and extruded jacket in an effort to reduce the wear and tear on any one location.

Ratchet: Telefonix offers both ratcheted and unratcheted cord reel products. Our ratcheted cord reels feature a unique design, which allows for flawless extension and retraction throughout the life of the product. Many of our original systems still operate perfectly today.
